About Us

A Blacktown Clinic, Through and Through

Our story

The clinic's history goes back further than its current owners. Dr Allen Dockett built the practice and, in time, became a mentor to a young Katrina Bulloch, who started at the clinic at just sixteen. In 2019, Dr Dockett handed the reins to Katrina and veterinarian Dr Amy Lee, who between them have kept the same commitment to genuine, hands-on care that the clinic was built on.

Since then, we've helped thousands of local dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds - and we're looking forward to helping thousands more.

How we work

We believe good vet care starts with an honest conversation. We'll always explain what's going on with your pet, walk you through the options, and be upfront about costs before we proceed - no pressure, no jargon, no surprises.

We also believe in long-term relationships rather than one-off visits. As a client, your pet gets a Health Care Treatment Plan tailored to their life stage, so nothing falls through the cracks between appointments.

Two experts, every appointment

Something that sets us apart: every consultation at West Blacktown Veterinary Clinic is co-consulted, with a veterinarian and a qualified veterinary nurse both in the room for your pet's whole appointment, not just part of it.

It's not common practice, but we've found it makes a real difference - four eyes on your pet, two perspectives on every question, and a much better chance that nothing gets missed. It's simply part of how we work, included in your consult fee.

Our team

Behind the front desk is a genuinely experienced group - vets, nurses and client care staff who've built careers in emergency care, oncology nursing, behaviour, medicine and more, alongside two much-loved clinic regulars who aren't on the payroll: Peach the cat and Chevy the dog.
