Microchipping is a NSW Government requirement - all cats and dogs (with few exceptions) must be microchipped by 12 weeks of age, or before being sold or given away, whichever comes first.

Once microchipped, your pet's details are loaded to the NSW Pet Registry within a few days, but it's up to you to claim and register them - a government requirement by six months of age, and an important step, since without it your pet can't be identified if they go missing. Remember to update the registry if you move house or change your details.

We've partnered with Pups Academy to run our puppy preschool program, a five-week course covering everything from building confidence around new people, sounds and surfaces, to core commands and settling in unfamiliar environments.

Just as importantly, you'll learn how to communicate with your puppy, manage their behaviour at home, and build a bond that lasts. We don't currently run an equivalent program for kittens - if you've brought home a new kitten, give us a call and we're happy to talk through settling them in.

The early weeks are a puppy's best window for building confidence around new experiences, which is why early training pays off.
